  • Social Media Trends For 2015

    Social Media Trends For 2015

    Social Media Trends 2015 @LogicserveDigi

We are all aware of how influential the social media has become. With 2015 about to kick start, one can hope for some new trends to kick in. Here, we are going to take a look at the possible trends which are going to dominate in 2015 as far as social media is concerned.

Facebook Ads- The Change in Dynamics

Facebook is one social networking site that has always believed in constant changes. You will find that new updates keep on popping up from time to time. So, what is likely to change in 2015? Facebook believes in coaxing users to choose paid ads rather than relying on organic search. Lesser and lesser number of fans will be able to see our post and advertisements unless you choose to boost them. We are all aware of how boosting needs monetary investment and in 2015, the paid ads by Facebook are likely to get even more popular.

Google Plus Might Become a Thing Of The Past

When the Google authorship program was launched, people thought that it would revolutionize the way we have been looking at social network marketing. However, we found out that it turned out to be a miserable flop. As hardly any one makes use of the authorship program, it is evident that Google Plus is going to be lost in oblivion. In 2015, it is likely that business firms are least likely to concentrate on Google Plus and they will be happier to shift focus to other social networking grounds.

    Instagram Will Soar In Popularity

We are all aware of how Instagram has invaded into our social networking circle. In 2015, it is likely that all those who want some kind of picture promotion will need to have an active following on Instagram. The popularity of this portal is increasing every day. There are more than 200 million monthly users and as far as image based social marketing is concerned, you will find no better choice than this.

The recent feature of in feed video advertising which has been launched is going to work wonders as it will give marketers a lot more control over the demographics which they wish to target.

    LinkedIn Will Hold The Key

From a business point of view, LinkedIn is the true giant and in 2015, its popularity will continue to soar even higher. When it comes to LinkedIn, it is the B2B marketplace which will find the growing impact of this site. An influential LinkedIn page can go a long way in being sure that the company can develop the right engagement and sometimes it can also push the traffic and overall search engine ranking as well.

These are the top trends which we are most likely to observe in 2015. However, you need to know that social networking sites have a lot of varying trends and you cannot be completely sure. This is the reason firms need to be flexible enough to adapt to the changes and adjust to the same.

  • 5 Tips to Increase LinkedIn Company Page Followers

Increase LinkedIn Company Page Followers @LogicserveDigi

Social media engagement is the buzzword for businesses and it does not matter whether that business is run by a company or an entrepreneur. While Facebook and Twitter are already very popular, the emergence of LinkedIn is also noteworthy and something that cannot be ignored by businesses. As per a study conducted recently, close to 50% of followers affirmed they are influenced by companies engaging with them on this site and are more likely to buy services or products of those companies. That is a huge percentage and certainly cannot be ignored.

The question then arises whether you as a company are leveraging the potential of LinkedIn to the best extent possible?

If you already are doing so, you would already be enjoying the benefits and only need to maintain the effort. But if you are not, then the following tips can help you vastly in improving interaction of this site.

    1. Finding groups on LinkedIn that are already engaging with your target segment followers

If you are already analyzing the activities of your competitors on social media, you are doing well. But it is also important to find other groups that are interacting with your target segment in order to understand their areas of interest. It could be an article, some discussion on a particular topic, a solution to some problem and so on. This will give you ideas that you can then post on your company page and present your perspective to draw attention of those followers over time. The “search” tab within the group will throw up the issues that you can build upon. You can if you wish to dig deeper by going to the Group Statistics where you will find insights into the group activities month wise as well as demographics. The “Activity” link will give you trending engagement topics which you can use for developing your content. There is also a “Go to Archive” link to enable you check out older discussions.

    1. Post updates frequently

If you have to draw attention to your updates on LinkedIn you need to be regular with your posts. It has been found that posting every morning on a regular basis attracts best results as most businesses look at the site at that time. You may then stagger and schedule posts through the day to maintain visibility for those who may wish to log in during the day. You may want to try out an automated tool like the HootSuite to take care of the posting for you. Automating in this fashion saves you time and effort. This tool is free and allows you to schedule posts and all you need to do is check the metrics for each post for suitable engagement.

    1. Embellish posts with pictures, contests, and links

LinkedIn provides you the facility of inserting pictures. You can now add images and embellish your posts for better visibility. Images have always attracted more attention and eyeballs as compared to simple text. Similarly, providing links that have interesting content can also help in pulling clicks. You can gain advantage by directing traffic to a blog post you have already written that is of use to your target segment and thus build engagement through their comments, views and queries. Engaging your readers through participation in contests is yet another way of interacting with them.

    1. Use the Targeting feature of LinkedIn

You would be able to create updates that are specifically targeted towards your customer segment through the Targeting feature. Use it along with the techniques mentioned above to draw traffic to your LinkedIn Page. You can also have an email signature line that will prompt readers to click on and they will then be directed to your LinkedIn account. You can thus engage with your readers who may become your fans and spread the word to enable you to get even more visitors.

    1. Make use of recommendation ads from LinkedIn

Using these ads will enable you to lend visibility and exposure to your products and services to the right target segment. You would be able to increase engagement on the Company Page by attracting more traffic and recommendations. Every time your product or service is recommended by somebody, it is shared automatically with that person’s followers which leads to even more recommendations and this can blow up to huge traffic over a period of time. The advantage with Recommendation Ads from LinkedIn is its focused appeal to target audiences and the results are quick due to the viral nature of this feature.

    LogicSpeak:

The above are some of the tips you can follow to increase engagement on LinkedIn. Try them out to experience better exposure and visibility to your LinkedIn Page.

  • Tracking Social Media Engagement

    Tracking Social Media Engagement @LogicserveDigi

Social media has the power to skyrocket your rankings to the stars, or plummet it to the abyss. Call it the miracle (or curse) of social media.

With such a power to influence the market, social media is a hard to ignore factor while deciding marketing, advertising, and sales strategies. Social media engagements, (in other words, user-company-interactions), not only build on the brand reputation, they also cross promotes your business across the user’s network, and, adds value to your SEO.

Effective social media engagement relays the subtle message about your company’s conviction to its user-base, on a one-on-one basis. Individual attention fosters loyal customers.

Much like lovers, social media and company brands too share love-hate relationship. The practice of researching a brand & its offerings over social media is growing exponentially. People are more likely to trust other people’s decision to use (or) to refuse a product. The Social Media Report  on “How social media impacts brand marketing” by Neilsen and NM Incite sheds great light into this matter.

    Product service info @LogicserveDigi

A serious prospect spends at least 2 days researching the product and the brand over the internet and across social media channels to understand the brand reputation amongst other users. User reviews, social media engagement (Tweets, FB messages, Pinterest boards, G+ discussions etc) play a great part in the decision making process.

This graph is indicative of why customers share their experience with the company over social media.

    Vanity statistics @LogicserveDigi

Website statistics can be broadly categorised as Vanity Statistics and Engagement Statistics

    1. Vanity Statistics
      1. Page loads
      2. Page visits
      3. Visitor counts
      4. Bounce rate
      5. Photos – Videos – OtherMedia Views/ downloads etc

Vanity statistics are largely to be viewed, feel good about it, and then forget about it. These do not contribute to the economic value in measuring these metrics.

    1. Engagement Statistics
      1. Conversation – Comments to blogposts / Replies to tweets / Response to FB messages & the likes of so
      2. Applause– FB likes/ Twitter Favourites / G+ plusses / re-pins & the likes of so
      3. Amplification  – FB shares / Re-tweets / Re-pins & the likes of so
      4. Economic Value – data from each social channel represented to be on a revenue-like value for easy evaluation and reporting.

Here is  the same explained by Avinash Kaushik in an easy to understand manner

    Economic value social media @LogicserveDigi

Calculating the Economic will make the comparison between social media channels a little less arduous. Not to mention, Economic projection makes it easy for the company to understand social media influence and allocate budget for the same.

Since Avinash’s post in 2011, analytics tools in the market have evolved in leaps and bounds. Back then, Avinash updates us with his recommendation to using Erik Ohlen’s Spreadsheet based dashboard to track and generate report for these metrics. However, now the same can be achieved via using the tool called TrueSocialMetrics., and recommends this as well.

    LogicSpeak:
Setting up your analytical tool to measure these metrics is only half the battle. The success lies in using these metrics is to convert the numbers into actionable plans. Identify your key engagement areas directly proportional to the economic value, and invest your time and money accordingly.

Previous Post: Why Marketers Should Pay Attention to Mobile

  • Sales Copywriting for your Brand’s Social Media Profiles

LSD-Blog--Sales-copywriting @LogicserveDigi The use of social media for brand promotion is a relatively new concept and a very effective one if you know how to go about it. Whether personal or business branding, you cannot go wrong if you are able to focus on delivering value to your target audience. Social media sites are best used to connect and there should not be an attempt to close like you would on a field sales call. The sales copywriting therefore needs to be pretty subtle.

So what is this process of value creation?

While it is business specific, there are some ideas you can try for your posts on social media sites like LinkedIn, Twitter and Face Book fan pages that are generic and are usually well received.

    • Help your audience by pointing them to a post that provides them solutions for the issues they are struggling with. A retailer for instance can throw in an enticing time bound discount offer on a product through his tweet.
    • A restaurant could engage the audience through a post that offers a free meal for the first customer visiting them and doing a particular dance number. This is not only a subtle invitation to their restaurant for anybody in the target audience but also engages with them in a nice and fun manner.
    • Similarly, somebody marketing information can point people to sites or content that offer varied and informative content or he could throw in an eBook for all those who visit a particular site.

You would have observed that in all the above cases, there is some value provided to the target audience. This makes the process of sales copywriting for social media an interesting and creative endeavor as there are many ways by which you can create this value.

    Customers Connect Initiative:

Your primary sales pitch and value creation must have led to the much required connection with your customers. As your customer trust gains ground, it is time to make the overt sales pitch as they understand you well and even connect with you in a better manner.

At this stage, your customers are likely to visit your social media pages to satisfy their curiosity towards your brand and its offering. This could encourage them to click on the links which redirect them to your website for gaining more information about your brand.

At this stage, you will not encourage them to visit or like any of your social media profiles or redirect them to check out the links you are providing there. In fact, it is not prudent to promote your products or ask for reviews or endorsements through social media unless they voluntarily do so. All you can do is offer them with useful tips and guidance with regards to their requirement irrespective of their purchase decision.   The objectives of sales copywriting for social media can therefore be summarized as under:

    1. Provide benefit to the reader
    2. Arouse sufficient curiosity
    3. Share information and content they would like to look at or see value
    4. Offer solutions to the issues the reader is confronted with.

Previous Post: How to Manage Social Media Crisis

  • How to Manage Social Media Crisis

    LSD_24.09.14_Social Media Crisis @LogicserveDigi

These are exciting times. The internet has made it possible to get information, get entertained and interact socially. Social media sites can get a brand instant recognition and viral videos can make it popular across the world in double quick time. However, it can also backfire equally badly when not handled right. It can lead to a social media crisis that would become difficult to manage with every passing second. You could have negative posts on social media sites, negative videos and other blog posts slamming your brand just as quickly. The situation calls for desperate social media crisis management at the earliest to salvage lost reputation.

So how should you go about it? The following steps are recommended.

    1. a) The first cardinal rule is to not panic and shoot out a response without a plan of action. Being opportunistic about negative publicity and trying to cash in on it can be disastrous as well. You need to have a definite PR crisis management strategy already worked out so that you can put it into action when needed. Have quick access to the Terms of Service of your product or service and also a ready list of people within the company who should be notified.
    2. b) Understand what is being written about so that you can prepare an articulate response. Comprehend the genesis of the crisis to fathom how many consumers, fans may be affected and why is it that there are so many others putting their weight behind the problem. There are social media listening tools that you should use to good effect before formulating a response.
    3. c) Acknowledge the problem the moment you get to know the details. Ignoring it or trying to be defensive about it will only lead to aggravation and further disenchantment with the brand. Be transparent and convey as quickly as possible that you are seized of the issue and doing your best to resolve it.
    4. d) Ensure your response is on a page that can be administered by you and within your control. That way you can monitor what is being said, the reaction to your response and what you need to do further to quell dissatisfaction. Allow people to vent out their frustration or feelings and do not try to respond or counter any of the posts, tweets individually. There is no purpose served getting into an argument with individual users as it will only lead to wastage of time and show that you are trying to defend your brand. Empathizing with users on the other hand before you prepare your response can prove to be beneficial.
    5. e) The page or site you are managing should contain details of the crisis and the steps being taken to manage it. You may route questions of users, fans and the media to this site so that communication is standard and uniform and everybody is on the same page. (Pun unintended).

    LogicSpeak:

The takeaway from the above steps is that it is worthwhile owning responsibility for something that has gone wrong. That can turn a potentially negative situation into a favorable one in the days to come and when matters settle down. Hiring a social media agency to manage your brand works as a boon during times like these while countering negative responses.

Previous Post: Social Media Strategy Simplified

  • Social Media Strategy Simplified

    LSD_17.09.14_Social Media @LogicserveDigi

It is one thing to know how a tool works,
But, it is an entirely different thing to know,
…how to get the tool to work for you.

That is Social Media Strategy in a nut-shell.

Social Media has come of age over last decade. It is probably handfuls who are not on Facebook, or Linkedin, or Twitter. Other social media platforms like Go2Crowd and Quora are fast catching up… but that is a topic for another day.

Given the mass appeal generated by Social Media Platforms, businesses realize the impact it could have on their business. We are already seeing several success stories on how people are making big money using social media. For kicks….

    1. This Photographer Just Made $15K In One Day On Instagram – Daniel Arnold
    2. Meet The 20-Year-Old Millennial Making A Living Off Facebook – Koby Conrad

There there, hold your horses. Don’t let the big bucks blind you.

It is their Social Media Strategy that actually made things work for them.

Social Media Strategy: Action Plan & the act itself

330x330_1 @LogicserveDigiThis phase is what defines your entire social media engagement, and could possibly take weeks / months to come to a definite objective.

Each goal is referred to as “Social Media Campaign”.

The response to these two questions will pretty much define your goal. However, feel free to improvise. No one knows your business than you.

    • What are planning to achieve by this campaign?…as in…
      1. E.g.: New Book launch – drive sales
      2. E.g.: Customer meet up event – get more people to book ticket
    • When do you plan to close on the results?…as in…
      1. E.g. : When sales cross 10K mark
      2. E.g. :When we have clocked in x-billing hours

330x330_2 @LogicserveDigiThe best thing with Social media is, you get to be at many places at the same time, without leaving the comfort of your chair.

Coming up with a set of tactics will only get you to the start-line. It is your (team’s) diligence to stick to executing the tactics that will define the success of your social media campaign.

Get your facts on these two questions; you are good to devise your very own social media strategy.

    • Know your Customer base:

Categorize your social media followers into categories. Drive your campaign to only those to whom it might matter. Indiscriminate dumping of campaign material is not just bad tactic, worse still; you could end up being branded as spam by rest of the followers.

    • Know your Social media platforms & its tools

Not all are active on all social platforms. Study your customer base and select top 5 platforms they are active on. Donot overlook the importance of integration tools for these platforms. Select the tools that all allow you to manage multiple social media accounts from a single window. Also ensure that this tool is made available across all your devices (PC/Laptop/Tabs/Smartphone etc)

Every Social media analysis report has established that, the success of a campaign comes down to two major factors. The customer, and his preferred social media platform .ie Customer makes a purchase after getting to your about your product somewhere / somehow. So, your social media strategy should be tailored around these two facets to ensure maximum reach and conversion.

    LogicSpeak:

A Good copywriter should be able to come up with intriguing teasers that will pique your network’s interest. A Good Social Media Coordinator sees to that the teasers reach the right kind of network on time. Should you find someone who can do both, consider yourself supremely blessed.
